House Passes Terrorism Insurance Bill
The House passes a measure that provides federal insurance in the event of another catastrophic terrorist attack. Under the program, the insurance industry's liability would be capped at $15 billion. The federal government would cover up to 90 percent of claims above the $15 billion cap. NPR's Kathleen Schalch reports.

Security Tight for Execution of Pakistani National
Authorities are increasing security in advance of Thursday's scheduled execution of Mir Aimal Kasi. The Pakistani national faces lethal injection in Virginia for the 1993 murder of two CIA employees in a shooting spree outside the agency's headquarters. Rick Mattioni reports.
Pelosi Wins Democratic Leadership Fight
House Democrats elect Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) as their leader over rivals Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-OH) and Rep. Harold Ford Jr. (D-TN). Pelosi follows Rep. Richard Gephardt (D-MO) as House minority leader, and becomes the first woman to hold the post. NPR News reports.
FBI Warns of Terrorist Threats Against U.S. Hospitals
The FBI says hospitals in four major U.S. cities might be the target of terrorists. Authorities say threats indicate that attacks could occur between December and April in Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Houston and Chicago. Jason Lopez reports.

Travis McMichael, his father, Gregory McMichael, and their friend William "Roddie" Bryan have pleaded not guilty in the 2020 killing of Arbery as he jogged in a residential neighborhood in Georgia.
