Healthcare technology provider Tecsys Inc. has pledged $5 million over the next five years to support Prisma Health’s new behavioral health hospital near Easley.

The pledge marks the largest philanthropic gift for behavioral health in Prisma Health’s history. The money will help fund a new $138 million psychiatric facility.

“Tecsys’ support is helping bring to life a transformational project that will change behavioral health care in the Upstate for decades to come,” said Mark O’Halla, president and CEO of Prisma Health. “With the support of the State of South Carolina, our community and partners like Tecsys, we can reduce that burden and help more people get the care they need closer to home.”

The need comes as Prisma Leaders say more than 3,300 patients had to travel outside of the area for treatment last year. The new hospital will be licensed for 112 beds.

The facility is scheduled to open in March of 2027.
