No deaths have been reported, but authorities and a local business owner have conflicting accounts of where the incident happened.
A release from RCSD says deputies responded to reports of shots fired in the 2700 block of Decker Boulevard shortly after 1 a.m. on Sunday. That location has been identified as Club Hush. Deputies said there were two victims on the scene who suffered from gunshot wounds who were taken to a local hospital.
While investigators were processing the scene, the sheriff's department learned that six additional gunshot victims had arrived at area hospitals via private vehicles, bringing the total number of injured to eight.
But Marc Hubbard, the owner of Club Hush, told media outlets his business was not involved.
According to reports, Hubbard claimed the shooting occurred out in the roadway near the Interstate 77 exit. SC Public Radio has reached out to Hubbard for comment. RCSD has not yet publicly announced arrests, potential suspects, or addressed Hubbard’s claims.
The investigation remains active. Anyone with information is asked to contact RCSD at 803-576-3000.
