The South Carolina Department of Transportation says the detours are part of construction for the new interchange at Exit 26.

Drivers can expect nighttime detours on I-77 northbound in Richland County next week between mile markers 25 and 27. The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) says the temporary detours are part of construction for the new interchange at Exit 26.

There will be two detour periods:

  • Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 10 p.m. - Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 6 a.m.
  • In case of inclement weather: Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 10 p.m. - Thursday, Sept. 10 at 6 a.m.

Traffic on I-77 southbound will be impacted. SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention to signs and crews when driving through the area.
