Fortified Solar, a manufacturer of custom steel roofing systems, is expanding within South Carolina.
The company was founded by Justin Draplin in 2020. It started in Travelers Rest, a city in Greenville. Fortified Solar’s existing manufacturing facility is in Taylors. The new operation will be located at 10 A. D. Asbury Road.
“This expansion represents an important milestone for Fortified Solar as we continue to invest in American manufacturing and meet growing demand for integrated solar roofing solutions,” said Draplin. “Greenville County has been a strong foundation for our growth and this investment allows us to increase production capacity, create new jobs and strengthen our ability to serve individuals across the country.”
The operation expansion is reported to be a $22.75 million investment into the county.
“Fortified Solar’s expansion is a testament to the growth opportunities available to manufacturers in our state,” said Gov. Henry McMaster. “We are proud to see the company creating over 151 new jobs and continuing to invest in the Upstate.”
Full production is expected to be reached by October
