The $38 million in federal recovery assistance is available to the state's farmers and forest landowners.

This Saturday, July 11, is the last day to apply for the South Carolina Disaster Relief Block Grant for Helene. The $38 million in federal recovery assistance is available to the state's farmers and forest landowners.

The grant covers qualifying losses not addressed by other U.S. Department of Agriculture programs or crop insurance. Those include infrastructure damage, market losses, future economic losses and timber losses.

Individuals are only eligible in counties that received a Presidential Disaster Declaration for Hurricane Helene. For additional information or to apply for assistance, visit the South Carolina Department of Agriculture's website.
