The South Carolina Department of Public Health has confirmed a new case of measles in an adult resident of Beaufort County.
State health officials say the individual’s vaccination status is unconfirmed, the source of exposure is unknown, and there is no known connection to a previous case reported earlier this month. The patient was seen by a local healthcare provider on June 6; laboratory confirmation was received yesterday.
