In June of 2001, Jennifer Lawson, 29, was shot in killed at an Anderson party. For 24 years, investigators were met with dead ends in seeking her justice. That all changed in February when Anderson County Deputies announced the arrest of Andretti Goss, 55.
Now, the sheriff's office says a second person has been arrested.
Carlos Chamblee, 53, is charged with murder, assault and battery with the intent to kill, discharging a firearm into a dwelling and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
According to investigators, Lawson died after three men arrived to the gathering in a dark colored car and were asked to leave. That's when, deputies say, one of the men fired a single shot from the car. The bullet went through a trailer wall, struck a man’s shoulder and then struck Lawson in the head, ultimately killing the Upstate mother.
Chamblee was booked into the Anderson County Detention Center on Tuesday afternoon and is awaiting bond court Wednesday morning.
